The Library, Discover and Free AI mode cost nothing. Plans unlock the editor and include credits for AI.
A sound effect or 30-second clip costs 1 credit. A full song costs 2. Payment is handled by Stripe's secure checkout; SoundDrop never sees your card. Cancel any time.
Installing
SoundDrop isn't on the App Store yet, so your Mac asks you to confirm it once.
- Open the downloaded zip and drag SoundDrop into your Applications folder.
- Open it. macOS says it can't check the app. Click Done.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to SoundDrop.
- Open SoundDrop again and click Open. You only do this the first time.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. The Library, Discover and Create in Free mode have no cost. Free mode uses your own Google account with Gemini, so Google's daily limits apply. Studio, effects, the Auto Folder and unlimited library size are part of a plan.
What is the difference between Free mode and credits?
Free mode runs Gemini inside the app with your own Google account. Credits use SoundDrop's own music service, with no Gemini account needed.
Can I use the AI sounds in videos I sell or post?
AI audio carries Google's inaudible SynthID watermark, and Google's terms apply to what it makes. Check them if you plan to use sounds commercially, and note that some platforms treat AI audio differently.
Where does my money go and how do I cancel?
Payments go through Stripe. Open the account menu in the app and choose Manage Subscription to cancel or change plan. See the refund policy.
Does SoundDrop see my password?
No. Google and Stripe handle sign-in and payment on their own pages.
Does it work on Windows?
Not yet. It is a Mac app.
